Fostex "S-168" Full Range Loudspeaker

What is a full range speaker? Ideally, there will be one driver reproducing the entire audio range (commonly considered to be 20 Hz to 20 kHz). There will be no crossovers needed, no integration issues between two or more separate drivers, and no time alignment, phase or polarity errors.

Fritzspeakers REV5 Loudspeakers

Why do loudspeakers cost so damn much money? After all, you take a wood box, cut holes for the woofer and tweeter, add a few common resistors and capacitors and inductors, and you are done! This 2-way speaker can be found for $100 or $1,000 or $10,000 or even more than $40,000 per pair.

Fritzspeakers REV7 Loudspeakers

Fritz Rev 7 Speaker

Now this was worth waiting for! Two and a half years ago, I reviewed the Fritzspeakers REV 5 speakers and found they "are not only good for the money, they are truly outstanding". I noted that they would benefit from a "little more sparkle and better resolution". Other than that, the REV 5 offered not only excellent overall sound quality, but are an amazing value.

Gallo Reference 3.1 Loudspeaker

Loudspeakers are not natural. Go outside and listen to a bird, or hear a piano, a French horn, a guitar, or even a drum. This is natural sound. Now listen to those same sounds on a typical loudspeaker where they are broken down into bass, midrange, and treble. The operative word here is “broken”. By the way, were you sitting in the sweet spot? Does a piano have a sweet spot?

Gallo Reference Strada Speakers and TR-3 Subwoofers

Anthony Gallo Acoustics has been developing and improving their spherical loudspeakers for more than 20 years. The new $1,998 per pair Reference Strada is the next generation, following the company’s very well received Reference 3.1 . The CDT3 tweeter is the exact same unit which is used in the new $5,995 Reference 3.5, and the dual 5” drivers with neodymium magnets are also found in the 3.5.

Harbeth Monitor 30 "Rendezvous" Special Edition Loudspeaker

I debated for a long time whether or not to write this review for two reasons:
1. This speaker has "good buzz" and I wondered if mine would be the lone voice in the forest of opinions. This dichotomy would be ongoing proof that YMMV.

Merlin TSM-MMe Loudspeakers

I am having an acute sensory conflict. My eyes are telling me one thing and my ears are reporting something completely different. I clearly see the Merlin TSM-MMe loudspeakers sitting on 22” stands. And there is music in my room. The problem is that the music is so completely disconnected from the speakers that it creates some confusion about the source of the sound.
